Art Yerecic awarded TLMI Converter of the Year

The Converter of the Year award honors and recognizes a member of the converting industry who has made an extensive contribution to the North America narrow web marketplace and who has additionally demonstrated a dedicated commitment to TLMI.

Yerecic grew up in his family’s label company, operating a printing press by his early teenage years. This experience cultivated an entrepreneurial instinct in Art, that has over the years, molded Yerecic Label into what it is today: a progressive flexographic label company that serves as an industry role model for service, quality, lean manufacturing, and environmental best practices.

Yerecic Label was an early adopter of lean manufacturing and continuous improvement tactics. Art recognized the need to implement these programs into his company’s structure more than 20 years ago as he foresaw the industry evolving into a mature and competitive marketplace. Today, Yerecic Label uses a range of Japanese continuous improvement and visual management tools to monitor every facet of the company’s production processes.

In addition to lean manufacturing practices, Yerecic Label has been a pioneer in the adoption of environmental best practices. Today, the company is one of the few 100 percent, landfill-free label manufacturing operations in North America. Yerecic and his team earned the 2014 Converter Environmental Leadership award, which was also revealed at the yearly gathering.
