Manel Xifra Boada Technological Centre, part of Comexi Group, has seen student number 500 pass through its door during the sixth edition of its practical maintenance course, with Mario Adalberto Arredondo Pérez, maintenance manager at Sealed Air Mexico, being the landmark student.

During the sixth edition of the practical maintenance course, eight professionals from Spain, Mexico, Peru and the Dominican Republic were trained over four days

It has taken five years and 41 advanced courses and technical seminars for Manel Xifra Boada Technological Centre to reach the 500 milestone, and to celebrate the achievement Manel Xifra, chairman of Comexi Group, and David Centelles, Manel Xifra Boada Technological Centre director, presented Mario Adalberto Arredondo with a commemorative plaque.

To date, the Manel Xifra Boada Technological Centre has developed courses focusing on flexo printing, lamination, maintenance, color, machine operation and other processes included in flexible packaging conversion. The courses are currently held in Spanish, English, French and Russian, with attendees from 31 countries.

During the sixth edition of the practical maintenance course, eight professionals from Spain, Mexico, Peru and the Dominican Republic were trained over four days, combining theory and practical sessions using Comexi technology. The aim of the course is to train participants in preparing and implementing an efficient maintenance program for flexography printing, lamination and slitting machinery.

Further, through a relationship with the Universitat de Girona, each student is given a diploma credited by the Universitat de Girona Foundation as a specialization course. The co-operation agreement between both parties has led to implementing the Specialisation Diploma in Flexible Packaging Conversion. This certificate is given to all professionals attending the advanced sessions in printing, laminating and maintenance, as well as the technical seminars, totaling at least 160 hours.
