Flint Group to launch UV LED low migration ink

Flint Group will launch a low migration UV LED ink set called EkoCure Ancora in early 2016. Visitors to the show can see the inks, currently in the beta stage, running at the MPS stand on the EF Neo flexo press. Flint Group is in the process of fine-tuning its manufacturing platform for both its locations in Sweden and North America.

Flint Group to launch low migration UV LED inks

The ink supplier introduced Flexocure Ancora low migration products in 2010 to assist its narrow web customers in moving into new markets, and has had a great customer response. It was explained that flexible packaging is considered to be the second highest market segment serviced by narrow web printers in Europe at 19 percent, ranked above even shrink sleeve labels. Still, narrow web printing represents only two percent of flexible packaging produced globally.

Said Deanna Klemesrud, global marketing manager for packaging and narrow web at Flint Group, 'We believe that UV LED is the future of curing. Many of our customers have retrofitted their presses to adopt the technology, and EkoCure Ancora will allow them to continue expanding into the flexible packaging market while reaping the efficiency benefits of UV LED.'

The ink supplier hosted its 11th annual awards program at 4:00 on its booth today.
