Flint transfers EMEA sheet-fed UV ink production to Trelleborg, Sweden

Flint Group has moved the production of sheet-fed UV inks for the EMEA market from Baranzate, Italy to its center of excellence in Trelleborg, Sweden in order to consolidate UV ink production to provide technological and logistical benefits.

Production moved from Italy to Sweden to consolidate UV ink production

The Trelleborg factory has been producing UV inks for flexible packaging and narrow web applications for many years. As a result of the move, which took place in the second half of 2014, the EMEA sheet-fed business will benefit greatly from a high level of UV manufacturing heritage and expertise, Flint Group said.

It added that the continuing growth in sales of sheet-fed UV inks is a key building block for that business unit.

Sheet-fed UV growth has been accelerated by investment in research and development, and the production and marketing, of the product range in recent years. This has included the launch of the Ultraking Xcura series.

Another benefit of the move is the freeing up of capacity at the Baranzate plant to scale up production of sheet-fed low migration inks and varnishes to help Flint Group ‘keep pace with demand’.

Flint Group’s commitment to sheet-fed UV inks can also be seen in a number of prominent appointments and promotions.
