Labels Unlimited and A&M Label form Fortis

The new company has been formed after Labels Unlimited acquired 100 percent of A&M Label, with the new business to be led by former Labels Unlimited chief executive officer John O. Wynne, Jr and headquartered in Virginia Beach, Virginia.

Fortis will provide a range of products produced using flexo and digital print processes. This will include pressure-sensitive labels, extended booklet printing, variable data printing, multi-ply coupon printing and flexible packaging printing.

Significant recent investment has been made enabling Fortis to use the latest pre-press and pressroom technology, while the Virginia headquarters will be supported by additional manufacturing and sales locations in Memphis, Tennessee and Wixom, Michigan.

Employing over 175 employees across the three sites, Fortis is ISO 9001: 2008, ISO 14001 and ISO/TS 16949 certified in its Wixom facility.

The company intends to pursue ‘attractive acquisitions’ to further its product offering and locations.

‘Both Labels Unlimited and A&M Label already shared a similar ethos, founded on providing solutions-driven customer service, so the decision to join forces for a stronger market presence was only logical,’ said Wynne said.

‘We are all very excited about the launch of the new brand and for the opportunity to bring an even better product to our customers in the food, automotive, retail as well as transportation and logistics sectors across the country.’
