Mendel targets Middle East growth

Germany’s Mendel Stanztechnik is making its debut at Gulf Print & Pack, with its presence at the 2015 event focused on expanding its reach in the region.

Mendel Stanztechnik was established over 25 years ago purely for subcontract work. Work began with external products but later moved on to modifying and improving existing machines based on the company’s many years of experience in this area to meet the special requirements of its customers.

From 1989, this moved into the development, production and sales of Medesa high-performance machines for manufacturing foil cut-outs.

The Medesa range of foil cutting units includes the X-Cut and the Webmaster 320 RG S, 380 RG S and 500 RG S models. These represent three different web widths, from 320mm to 506mm, while the X-Cut can convert 230mm widths. They are able to operate at speeds up to 400 strokes a minute, and with punching tools featuring up to 24 cavities.

Already installed in the region, including with converters in Lebanon, Jordan, the UAE and Saudi Arabia, where the machine is fitted with a 24-cavity punching tool, the company is looking to place more units in the region as a result of its presence at Gulf Print & Pack 2015.

’The machine installed in Saudi Arabia highlights the potential productivity of this technology, as 24 cavities and hundreds of strokes a minute is a highly productive solution,’ said Heinz-Dieter Mendel, the company’s president.
