As of December 31 AC Labels will cease to trade, and all of its assets and business will merge with those of Mercian Labels.

AC Labels provides barcode options to blue chip companies and institutions, mainly via the print trade, with industry-setting lead times and award-winning service according to Mercian Labels.

AC Labels was purchased by Mercian Labels in 2010 and adding long-run variable data and barcode label capabilities to its product portfolio, and has since been awarded the IPIA Trade Printer of the Year award twice in two years. In October 2012, AC Labels also received accolades for producing the world’s longest barcode label at 40m long.

Mercian Labels said that since 2010, AC Labels’ growth has been ‘exponential’.

Further, millions of pounds have been invested over the last four years on a new generation of presses and to build infrastructure so that AC Labels and Mercian Labels are ‘primed to move forward together into the powerhouse of print providers’.  AC Labels recently added the latest generation of fast flexographic presses to its equipment portfolio.

The new-look Mercian Labels formed by the merger will allow complete access to each company’s facilities from materials, through pre-press to a wide range of finished goods.
