MPS has been selling and servicing its presses in North America for several years, and in May last year announced it was strengthening that presence by expanding its sales, installation, service and assembly operations. The partnership with Northern Graphic Solutions is a further step in fulfilling that aim, MPS said.

Leading the sales and service effort for Northern Graphic Solutions is company president Jerry Wynia and Jim Neate, its sales and marketing manager. With local support based in Toronto and Montreal, Northern Graphic Solutions will be able service all of central and eastern Canada.

Kees Nijenhuis, vice-president of MPS’ North American operations, added: ‘By combining the technical innovation and high quality manufacturing of MPS with the market knowledge and customer service of Northern Graphic Solutions, we can optimally satisfy the needs of the Canadian market.

‘Together we have an outstanding ability to help customers improve their entire printing process, which will enable them to excel even further. Together with Northern Graphic Solutions and our North American organization, we’re building a best-in-class sales and service organization.’

‘We are excited to join the MPS team,’ said Wynia. ‘We truly believe MPS is the leader in print quality and production efficiencies, offering its customers a real competitive advantage with today’s challenges. With its emphasis on ease of control, press operators really love running this press, thereby using the maximum potential of the technology as well as bringing quick returns to the ownership.’

One of the flexo presses Northern Graphic Solutions is offering its customers is the MPS EF, which is an automated multi-substrate press available in 13in, 17in and 20in widths. It includes the proprietary Crisp.Dot technology and features a choice of either plate rolls or print sleeves, as well as both UV and hot-air drying technology for printing film, paper, shrink sleeves and flexible packaging.

‘With MPS’ value-added features, its presses bring additional opportunities to our customers,’ added Wynia. ‘One example is the trend to thinner and thinner unsupported packaging films.

‘With its unique web transport system and Crisp.Dot technology the press can easily handle these materials with an extremely stable register.’
