TAASC, which is celebrating its 25th anniversary, is a national leader in adaptive sports and connects individuals with disabilities, their families, volunteers, and community organizations through a lifetime of adventure sports. Ten disabled veterans and 40 other disabled adults and children and their families gathered on June 24 and 25 for water skiing, kayaking, sailing, wakeboarding, paddle boarding, and fishing.

Dave Ganger, business manager, Torayfan Division at Toray Plastics, and a veteran, has been a Toray volunteer at TAASC for more than a decade and currently serves as president of the board of directors. He attended on both days as a volunteer.

‘Toray and the TAASC family always look forward to this very special weekend,’ Ganger said. ‘It was an honor for us to be among courageous men and women who have served our country so heroically and continue to live vital, engaged lives. We also had the privilege of serving other disabled men, women and children from the area who participated. It’s wonderful to see everyone being physically active and having such a great time.’

Christopher Roy, senior vice president and general manager of the Torayfan Division, notes that Toray has a long history of giving financial support and volunteer hours to organizations dedicated to helping people, especially veterans. ‘Toray has many team members who are veterans or who have family members who serve in the military. This TAASC event is very meaningful to us. That we are able also to help others in the community who are disabled makes our relationship with TAASC doubly rewarding.’
