Toyo Ink Turkey Kimya Sanayi, based in Istanbul, Turkey, was officially opened on January 12 with a paid-in capital of 6.38 million TRY (2.6 million USD). Toyo Ink first established a representative office in the country in March 2014 to conduct research on the market in Turkey and having achieved some positive results, it has taken the step to establish the office in Istanbul.

Toyo Ink stated that Turkey is attracting attention as a commercial hub, including from the North African region, due to the growth of emerging nations and changes in the global economic environment, while it has historically been a crossroads of civilizations and as a geographically strategic base straddling both Europe and Asia.

Toyo Ink expects the region to turn into an industrial center for its core competency markets of commercial printing, food packaging, automobile and electronics.

Satoru Nakajima has been appointed as president of the new subsidiary, which will begin the import and sale of Toyo Ink products in its inaugural financial year.

In the future, the company plans to evolve the business with the aim of setting up a local manufacturing base as a regional operational hub.
