Treofan realigns organization with new global business units

BOPP film manufacturer Treofan has realigned its business to bring it more closely in line with its customers’ needs, and, effective immediately, will manage its operations through four global units, including news ones covering packaging and labels.

Each global business unit will be aligned to a specific customer segment, and will see Treofan consolidate all of its self-adhesive, wrap-around and in-mold label activities into a new Labels business unit. Similarly, all of Treofan’s packaging activities will be consolidated into the Packaging business unit.

Former head of corporate development Dr Joachim Dohm will head the Labels business unit, while Oliver Bruns, previously responsible for IML, is taking the reins of the Packaging segment.

The two new business units complement Treofan’s two existing ones: Tobacco, led by Nico Schoeman, and Electronics, headed by Mark Neville.

Treofan has already outlined its plans for growth after maintaining its annual turnover of around half a billion euros in the last financial year while stabilizing profits based on an improved product mix and growth in premium segments.

Treofan chief executive officer Peter Vanacker said: ‘The many conversations we had at interpack confirmed, once more, that brand owners and converters want central global points of contact. Our new organizational structure is in response to this wish, and also reflects the different processes that labels and packaging entail. It will make our collaboration with partners in areas such as innovation and customer service even more effective.’

The completion of Treofan’s business unit restructuring renders the commercial operations coordination function, required temporarily during the transition, superfluous. As a result, Yvo van Vliet, who was responsible for this function as executive vice-president, will be leaving Treofan by mutual consent.

Vanacker said: ‘I would like to thank Yvo for his great reconstruction work – the basis on which we have now been able to reorganise our business units entirely around our customers’ needs.’
