Afinia Label announces new digital label finishing options at LabelExpo Americas

‘Afinia Label is pleased to announce two new finishing options for use with the L801 and R635 Color Label Printers; the DLF-1000 Digital Label Finisher and DLP-2000 Digital Label Press’, said Mike Atkins, Afinia Label’s national sales manager. ‘The DLF-1000 is an economical, standalone machine that can laminate, digitally cut, slit and rewind output from any Afinia label printer. The production-quality DLP-2000 brings Memjet speed and low cost together with fully automated, in-line, lamination and die cutting at an industry leading price point.’ The DLF-1000 uses a computer-controlled, plotter-style cutting mechanism that allows the user to create labels in any size or shape without dies. The DLF-1000 supports both self-wound and supported (on liner) lamination rolls, and can slit “multiple-image-up” output into separate rolls for maximum efficiency. Also unveiled at the show, the DLP-2000 label finishing system can work in-line with the Afinia L801 to print, die-cut, laminate, remove matrix, and rewind finished labels. The DLP-2000’s rotary die-cutting system (RotoMetrics flexible dies) creates finished label rolls with the proven accuracy, quality and speed that can only be achieved with dies. The speed of the semi-rotary die allows the DLP-2000 to finish labels as they are printed by the L801 at 30 feet per minute. In addition, the DLP-2000 can also be used to die-cut and slit blank label material for future printing. Mike Atkins added: ‘These two systems round out our full line of digital label equipment. Our L801/DLP-2000 label bundle produces full-color, roll labels at a much lower cost and higher speed than other digital label press options in this price range.’
