Amsterdam Metallized Products B.V. (AMP) has launched Valvac Transfer Metallized SuperCote, a new high-gloss transfer metallized label paper, specifically designed for non-returnable label applications requiring a premium label appearance.

The development of this new high-gloss, transfer metallized label paper was a joint project with Stora Enso and Mitsubishi HiTec Paper, based on the cast-coated label paper SuperCote. Valvac Transfer Metallized SuperCote is aimed at providing an alternative to all direct metallized label papers and allows end users to get an ever higher gloss for premium labels. It is ideally suited for premium labels for beverages such as wine, champagne and spirits as well as for wrap-around labels for composite cans and glass jars.

Valvac Transfer Metallized SuperCote is offered in the basis weight of 86gsm. The one-side cast-coated, transfer metallized, high-gloss label paper has been optimized for trouble-free, economical use in printing and labeling machines. Thanks to AMP’s transfer metallizing process, the label paper is said to be characterized by a warm, clear silver without any ‘milky’ shades. This, in combination with the top lacquer used, guarantees good ink appearance. Valvac Transfer Metallized SuperCote is suitable for offset litho printing with standard inks (oxidative drying) as well as for UV inks and varnishes. It is available in sheets.
