Atlantic Zeiser introduces ink jet printing systems and RFID label encoding solutions

Atlantic Zeiser, supplier of dedicated personalization and encoding systems for the label market, will demonstrate two new solutions at Labelexpo Europe 2007. Live demonstrations will highlight the precision and versatility of the Omega 36/36i, a digital inkjet printer featuring drop-on-demand array jet technology. The new printer produces variable data printing on a wide variety of substrates. Atlantic Zeiser will also debut the Tagline, a high-speed RFID smart label personalization system that reportedly simplifies quality control and encoding of RFID tags in the ticket and label process.   

The lightweight and compact size of the Omega 36/36i digital inkjet printer enables an easy integration into most existing equipment. The Omega 36/36i was designed and developed by Atlantic Zeiser. The printer can be installed on web or sheet-fed applications. The 360 dpi print resolution in combination with Atlantic Zeiser’s proprietary inks ensures clear and crisp printing of very small characters and produces bar codes with excellent readability and clarity. The Omega 36/36i prints on a wide variety of substrates, including paper and carton, as well as specialized materials such as aluminum, polymer foils and plastics.

Atlantic Zeiser is offering a series of UV-curable or solvent-based inks, formulated for specific application needs, and optimized to deliver superior print quality and performance.

The Tagline high-speed smart label encoding system simultaneously handles RFID tag encoding and optical OCR/bar code marking. The encoding module utilizes eight independent high frequency chip encoding units to perform encoding in a read/write cycle. This process verifies that information sent to a tag is correctly stored and enables fast, accurate production of up to 40.000 labels an hour. The labels can be printed with variable data (numbers and/or barcodes), or with additional security features, without any reduction in production in speed.

This high-speed system for RFID smart label personalization has been developed specifically for encoding, marking and selecting RFID tags (or transponders), guaranteeing 100 percent verification. Tagline is the ultimate solution for smart tickets and smart labels that conform to the strict quality and accuracy specifications required e.g. in the pharmaceutical sector or by the US Food and Drug Administration.
