Avery Dennison upgrades ‘legacy films’

Avery Dennison is upgrading its Primax and FasClear ‘legacy films’ to provide more clarity and conformability than their predecessors.

Photo-Reactive Adhesive Technology is a system that allows simultaneous permanent and removable constructions

The high performance, machine direction oriented films also come with Avery Dennison’s ClearCut adhesive. The upgraded films will form part of Avery Dennison’s presence at Labelexpo Americas 2016, taking place September 13-15 at the Donald E. Stephens Convention Center in Rosemont, Illinois.

Also at Labelexpo Americas 2016, Avery Dennison will unveil its Photo-Reactive Adhesive Technology, a system that allows simultaneous permanent and removable constructions. Adhesive on this film becomes removable when exposed to UV light, and the unexposed film is permanent. In essence, it allows the film to change from permanent to removable in one construction. This product is targeted to label converters creating extended content labels.

Avery Dennison’s TT Sensor Plus interactive label will also be presented. The NFC-enabled label was unveiled as a concept at Labelexpo Americas in 2014, and is now commercially available for the first time, as reported here. It allows customers to record and track temperature readings on temperature-sensitive products, such as pharmaceutical and perishable food items.
