Catalan film converter installs first Comexi CI8

- Technology offers quality and environmental performance improvement
- The agreement result of success achieved at the Drupa 2012
Catalan-based plastic film printer Inplacsa has installed a new Comexi CI8 press, the first since it was announced in 2011 and shown at Drupa 2012.
Inplacsa is a specialist in flexographic printing of plastic films. It will start working with the press from September.
The CI8 press was developed over a number of years, and adapts offset technology for the flexible packaging industry.
Improvements
Comexi said this has resulted in an important step forward in printing, as well as laminating, cutting and drying.
Improvements to environmental performance are also achieved, as it uses electron beam-cured inks, which eliminate solvents.
Variable repetition
It is also the first offset press to offer variable repetition with a central drum for flexible packaging, Comexi said.
The agreement between Comexi and Inplacsa was signed after Drupa 2012, where the new press technology was shown.
