Corona Supplies offers surface tension measurement instrumentation

Corona Supplies has announced its latest partnership. It joins forces with Tendering Pacific to market the PG-X Pocket Goniometer, a unique instrument for investigating the wetting behaviour of a liquid on a solid surface.

Corona Supplies well established in the supply of Surface Tension Dyne Inks and Test Pens, can now offer a more scientific measurement of the surface tension level on any polymeric surface or in-fact any solid surface, by placing the PG-X directly onto the material to be tested, Static contact angles, dynamic contact angles, surface free energy and surface tension readings can all recorded.  Result readings are compatible with industry standards ASTM D724, D5946, TAPPI T458.

The PG-X is a semi-automated instrument with an integrated micro-pump that delivers a droplet of test liquid of constant size for reliable, repeatable results. An integrated video camera captures up to 15 images per second to show precisely what happens from the moment of droplet contact.

Connecting directly via the USB port of a computer, the PG-X software is compatible with Windows 2000/XP, enabling the selection of test parameters and the storage of test data. A movie of the dynamic test image can be replayed and exported and the results from two different tests can be compared.

The PG-X is compact, portable and available as a stand-alone instrument or as part of a Technical Field kit, making it ideal for use in the laboratory and on the production floor.
