Cosmo Films adds new features to DTP film

Cosmo Films has added new features to its direct thermal label film product, which is used in a variety of applications such as information labeling (airport baggage tags), manufacturing tracking, weight and price labeling.

New DTP film features water resistance, dark image production and varied thickness

Cosmo Films manufactures BOPP film and coats it for use in direct thermal printing. The film has a proprietary coating which enables image or impression formation upon contact with the printhead of the thermal printer. A protective layer is generally applied to protect the coated surface from mechanical abrasion, climatic factors and chemical products.

The new features of its direct thermal printing film allow it to offer scuff and water resistance. The film also produces a paper-like matte finish and a darker image on printing.

Cosmo Films said the film is becoming an increasingly popular substrate for this printing type because of its non-tear characteristic.

Further, it is now available in thickness varieties of 50 and 75 microns in a single layer structure and 100 microns and above in laminated structures.
