Dow Corning to unveil release liner and promote #SiSelfie

This new release coating is designed to promote reliable high-speed/high-volume production in ultra-flat release systems.

In addition, the company’s Syl-Off SL 35 Release Modifier will also be featured at the Dow Corning stand and is the next generation of controlled release additive technology for low-platinum, solventless systems, helping customers optimize quality and cost savings. These offerings will be on display with other highlights of the Syl-Off Advantage Series portfolio during the event.

Dow Corning is offering visitors the unique opportunity to win a high-tech prize by ‘picturing themselves with the silicone advantage’ via a selfie at the Dow Corning stand. Joanna Giovanoli Potts, Americas market manager, Packaging, Dow Corning, said: ‘We take the success of our label customers very seriously, as demonstrated by the collaborative innovation that has contributed to many products in our industry-leading Syl-Off portfolio. We are eager to introduce our newest innovation at LabelExpo, and share how it expands this product line’s proven solutions for enhancing manufacturing reliability, flexibility and efficiency vs. competitive products. The launch of our latest technology will further validate why Dow Corning customers can be confident that we deliver consistently high quality, stability and performance.’

Syl-Off Advantage Series release coatings have been designed to enable label manufacturers to reduce system costs, increase converting speeds without impacting quality and use release liners constructed of new filmic and paper materials with thinner gauges. The Syl-Off family of products significantly lowers platinum usage, enables fast coating speeds and supports a wider range of substrates. Together, these products offer Dow Corning’s label manufacturing customers a full array of solutions to compete successfully in this ever-changing environment.

The company’s Syl-Off SL 35 Release Modifier offers tight release at very low platinum levels with stability and shelf life. It optimizes the potential of Dow Corning’s Syl-Off Advantage Series solventless systems to give customers results in both quality control and cost savings. It is suitable for use in the manufacturing of pressure-sensitive label stock, single- and double-sided release papers, liners for adhesive tapes and other coatings for sticky materials.

Dow Corning will also highlight several other products in its Syl-Off Advantage Series, including Syl-Off SL 181 and Syl-Off SL 581 Solventless Release Coatings, which feature stable, flat release profiles and low platinum levels for curing. These technologies help reduce the potential for web breaks after die cutting and during label dispensing. They facilitate fast line speeds without misting and are suitable for a variety of applications.
