EyeC has launched Proofiler Content, an inspection system for artwork quality control

Proofiler Content is a PDF proofing system that EyeC claims is the first in the market to inspect the entire content of an artwork in a single operation, including live and outlined text, graphics, layout, barcodes and Braille. Significant deviations between the two inspected files are displayed for the operator to evaluate and then listed in a report that is generated automatically.

It is applicable for the inspection of cartons and labels, and can inspect any language and any alphabet.

EyeC said Proofiler Content is designed to provide design studios, brand owners and pre-press departments a means to control the quality of their artwork files during the design phase.

Dirk Lütjens, EyeC founder and head of development of the EyeC Proofiler Content, said: ‘Artwork approval is a critical phase in the design and printing process. An error at this stage can be extremely costly for a company in terms of time, money, and image.

‘Presently, most companies rely on manual proofreading to check and approve artwork files. This process is tedious, time-consuming and not 100 percent reliable. The need for a solution that increases the security of the process, reduces the number of design cycles, and decreases the time it takes to get to the market is huge. With the EyeC Proofiler Content, we are now able to address those issues.’

Lütjens added: ‘Its strength lies in its unique ability to verify at the same time the text, graphics and layout of two PDF files. On the one hand, it increases the accuracy of the inspection by enabling the EyeC Proofiler Content to identify changes that other technologies cannot detect – for instance, hidden text or graphics. On the other hand, it allows the EyeC Proofiler Content to analyse complex changes between two PDFs and shows the user exactly the origin of those differences.’
