Fiscagomma to launch non-woven fabric product for labeling denim

With over 40 years experience in the production of synthetic fabric, Fiscagomma will launch a non-woven coagulated fabric, Synthetic Leathertex Nubuk, suitable for making labels for denim items thanks to its characteristics and aesthetic appeal.

Created in a collaboration between Fiscagomma and its subsidiary, Sogetec, Nubuk is said to be a highly technological material. The heat burnishing coagulated non-woven fabric is printable, offers great performance and is highly resistant, says the company.

A Nubuk label is claimed to offer a 'more natural look' compared to the typical label. The production process used offers more resistance to washing and wear and tear over time, making it possible to keep seams intact. The product can be heat pressed resulting in changes in tone that remain uniform for all the labels created. Nubuk offers the possibility to personalize labels with brand names, different models and various designs and are either heat pressed to obtain changes in color or printed using screen printing techniques. Given that it is particularly resistant to stone and enzyme washing, Nubuk does not fade or run and does not dye the piece it is used on.

Nubuk meets the strictest directives regarding composition, as requested by Reach legislation: it does not contain phthalates, heavy metals or plasticizers and therefore, is safe for human health and the environment. The product is environmentally friendly and the laboratories at Sogetec have obtained ISO 9001: 2008 certification for their production processes and ISO 14001:2004 certification for the environment. The company is currently working to obtain OHSAS 18001:2007 certification to gaurantee health and safety of workers.
