GM launches versatile digital converter

Grafisk Maskinfabrik has launched the DC-500mini converting and finishing unit for use with digital printing presses, which has a footprint of just 3 x 1m (6 x 3ft).

GM DC500Mini

The DC500mini can be set up as an in-line extension to a digital press, allowing the web to continue directly into the converter. It can also be used as an off-line converting and finishing unit and even as a printing press for specialized value-added products.

The line includes varnish, semi- and full rotary die cut, slit and dual rewind stations, with options including lamination, corona, web clean, back-scoring and razor slitting.  The UV flexo varnish station has optional registration for spot varnish.

Print-to-cut registration is achieved in one rotation, with no station movement or mechanical setup required, said GM. Repeat lengths are adjustable from 2-22.5in and line speeds up to 40m/min.
