Neenah Paper introduces Prevail range of heavyweight latex papers

Neenah Paper Technical Products announces the introduction of Prevail Heavyweight Latex Papers, a new line of high-strength latex-saturated substrates that offer alternatives to cloth, film or other materials in cases where paper doesn’t provide the necessary strength. The line features Prevail Staybound and Prevail Duralock, which can be used in a variety of applications.
The papers are ideal for most printing and finishing processes. Prevail can be coated, scored and die cut, folded, sewn, grommeted or riveted, embossed, laser printed and four-color process printed. Latex saturation makes the papers more dimensionally stable and flexible, which means they stand up better to moisture, heat and cold. They boast excellent crack-on-fold resistance and can be used in many other applications, such as substrate bases for hardcover books, security documents, alternatives to nonwovens in wrapping applications, high-tear tapes and coating substrates, and base materials for indoor/outdoor banners.
‘Prevail Papers are unique because not only do they provide exceptional strength that surpasses typical paper substrates, they also have a cloth-like feel yet still convert and handle like paper,’ said Gary Sweeney, market manager, Neenah Paper Technical Products. ‘Converters will also appreciate the superior lay-flat characteristics and ability to conform and wrap to most surfaces.’ Prevail Staybound Paper is a book spine covering material that, in addition to the above characteristics, possesses outstanding stretching qualities and especially high internal bond strength. It can also be used as tablet stripping. The paper is available in 140gsm, 120gsm, 100gsm and 85gsm weights.
For stationery applications, there’s Prevail Duralock fastener paper. It may be glued and punched, making it an excellent, long lasting material for file or hanging folders.
