Omet updates matrix stripping capabilities

Italian printing machinery manufacturer Omet has updated its matrix stripping capabilities with the latest evolution of its Rock’n’Roll stripping system and introduction of the Easy-Strip unit.

Rock’n’Roll is a module designed for the easy removal of matrix stripping waste without interfering in the performance of the press. A new dual function means it can work in two different ways according to the type of substrate and the die-cutting shape – either as a contact-style or tower-style system.

Easy-Strip is a delam/relam assembly offered as an additional unit for easier matrix removal operation in self-adhesive label production, according to Omet. It helps to prevent the matrix from breaking especially with special materials like paper facestock reaching the speeds up to 190m/min. East-Strip is suitable for all Omet narrow web presses, from iFlex to XFlex X6. It opens and recouples all facestock materials, reducing the adhesive strength between the printed substrate and the backing, keeping a constant tension on both layers.

Omet said the combination of these two systems optimizes the entire printing process and increases production efficiency, and prevents inconvenient downtimes due to possible matrix breaks. Further, they allow an increase in production speeds and keep perfect die-cutting shapes, avoiding any issue caused by special substrates or complex label shapes, Omet said.
