Scodix adds Ultra Pro

Scodix is expanding its line of presses with the introduction of the Ultra Pro, an extension of its existing Ultra model with the addition of numerous new features.

This includes controls enabling operators to switch between multiple polymers for varying applications and effects. Scodix Ultra Pro is also the first system to feature Scodix Spot, a polymer that produces a spot varnish for short runs. Scodix Spot digitally recreates the effect of traditional flat varnishes, without the setup time or mess.

Roy Porat, Scodix chief executive officer, said: ‘Print service providers and folding carton converters are faced with a rapidly changing industry whose demands directly impact their own business, and Scodix offers them a single-source value-added solution. With the printing market becoming increasingly competitive, and market pressures drive margins down, Scodix allows print service providers to become solution service providers. This is especially critical as ‘print only’ evolves into a commodity.’

The new Scodix Ultra Pro units will be available in the first quarter of 2015 having been introduced at Graph Expo.
