Branded as ‘The Pony’, the off-line and in-line rotary hot foil stamping machine with foil saver, and featuring multiple streams of foil as well as registered holographic foil stamping, was well received at Labelexpo India 2016. The machine can be retrofitted to any flexo press. Abhay Datta, director at UV Graphic Technologies, said: ‘It’s a one-of-a-kind machine; we are very happy with the response to this equipment. It has been appreciated by converters as well as machine manufacturers. We have an order of 20 machines from a leading convertor and we have already installed 12 such machines. We also have several serious enquiries from leading converters and some from press manufacturers.’

The combi plate mounter, exhibited for the first time at a trade show, is capable of mounting plates on any brand of flexo press. UV Graphic is a recommended supplier of these plate mounters to Bobst flexo presses. The company partnered with Omet, Alliance, Webtech Labels and Reifenhauser at the show floor. Datta said: ‘The plate mounter was also exhibited at Labelexpo Americas 2016, which received an overwhelming response. While the company has sold 60 units in the last three months, we confirmed four plate mounters at the show floor.’

UV Graphic also launched its laboratory LED equipment for testing LED inks by ink manufacturers. ‘This equipment is used to benchmark ink quality. We have two orders at the moment and have received multiple enquiries at the show floor,’ said Datta. The Ultralab 250 LED system displayed during the show was sold to Rextone in Gujarat, one of the leading developers of LED coatings and inks.

The company further launched a narrow web UV LED curing system at this year’s Labelexpo India, which was running on the press launched by Webtech Engineering at the show. The machine was printing a 6-color full LED with conventional UV for the varnish unit. The machine was tested at 100m/min by a prospective customer.

UV Graphic also announced its technical partnership with Multi Hitec to manufacture magnetic cylinders, hot foiling cylinders, print cylinders and sheeting cylinders. ‘The partnership is for knowledge sharing, design and manufacturing process of the cylinders,’ commented Datta. ‘We received a very good response for the cylinders as well.’

Speaking of Labelexpo India 2016, Datta concluded: ‘The show was well organized but the footfall seemed low mainly due to demonetization and uncertainty of the business atmosphere. However, companies and buyers that really matter were present at the show.’
