Northwest acquires Actinic Inc

Northwest Coatings LLC. has acquired the stock of Greensboro, NC-based Actinic, Inc. Actinic is a leading developer and manufacturer of UV and EB curable coatings and adhesives for the graphic arts and industrial markets. Commented Jeffrey Holdsberg, President and CEO of Northwest Coatings, LLC: “Both Northwest Coatings and Actinic possess leading edge technologies and each organization has always had a strong, mutual respect for each other’s technical capabilities and customer focus. This coupled with a desire by both organizations to accelerate the development and commercialization of several exciting technologies has led the companies to join forces.
“We look forward to leveraging our companies' combined strengths and building sustained value for our customers, employees and shareholders. As we collaborate on technical projects, which is the cornerstone of both businesses, we are committed to offering best-in-class products, sales support and customer service.”
Commented Tim Leeper of Actinic: “Northwest represents a great fit for our customers and employees. The two companies together will have the breadth of product lines and technical resources to become a major player in UV, EB and water base coatings, adhesives and specialty products. Our current customers will stand to benefit greatly from us now having additional facilities and access to resources. Actinic has several emerging technologies for which the commercialization cycle should now be accelerated.” As part of the transaction, Actinic’s current principal shareholders, Tim Leeper and Jim Bagwell, will become shareholders of Northwest Coatings, LLC.
Added Holdsberg, “We believe that combining the technical capabilities, products and personnel that exist in both of these great companies will result in enhanced value for our customers”.
