Paxar Corporation has announced that its Q-Service bureau for RFID has started production. Paxar's new service enables suppliers to Wal-Mart and others needing RFID shipping and pallet labels to take delivery of labels, programmed with their unique RFID data and printed with bar code and human readable data, in as little as 48 hours. Q-Service means that suppliers can meet retailers' RFID needs without investing in hardware or systems.

'We successfully filled several orders in the second quarter,' says John Powell, vice president, Service Operations. 'The first customer to use our Q-Service capabilities was a large package delivery company. We ran the order and shipped it, meeting their delivery expectations. The customer was entirely satisfied with the service and the 100 per cent read rate of the labels provided. Paxar is pleased to offer this value-added program, so that suppliers can begin meeting RFID mandates immediately with absolutely no investment in specialized systems or equipment.'
Paxar Corporation is a global player in the identification and tracking of consumer products worldwide. Paxar products are used by leading global apparel brands. Monarch brand products are used by 90 per cent of the top 100 US retailers and their supply chain partners to identify, track and price all varieties of consumer goods. Paxar is also a member of EPCglobal, the agency managing the emerging standards for RFID.
