Printing equipment manufacturer Koenig & Bauer has promoted Gerrit Zwergel to CEO of its North American operations, alongside three other senior management appointments at its Dallas headquarters.

Zwergel, who has served as CFO for Koenig & Bauer (US/CA) for over 25 years, will continue in his CFO role in addition to his new CEO responsibilities. The company described him as a long-standing and highly respected member of the North American team.

'I am extremely proud to lead this forward-thinking management team and organization into the future as we evolve with the dynamic marketplace and introduce exciting new technology,' said Zwergel.

Chris Talbert has been promoted to chief operating officer and will join the management board of Koenig & Bauer (US/CA). During his 21 years with the company, he served as senior vice president of service operations, developing a team of experienced service technicians who provide customers with long-term service approaches and outstanding relationships.

Jeff Dietz has been appointed as senior vice president of sales for Koenig & Bauer (US/CA), returning to the company after previously serving as vice president of the web and specialty press division. In his new role, he will meet extensively with current and potential customers while overseeing the North American sales team.

'It is my privilege to rejoin Koenig & Bauer (US/CA) as its senior vice president of sales. I will be working closely with the sales organization and their laser-focus on the packaging, commercial and label printing markets as well as several key niches,' said Dietz.

Eric Frank will continue as senior vice president of marketing after nearly 24 years with Koenig & Bauer (US/CA). He will continue to drive and manage the company's marketing strategies while supporting all facets of the organization as it experiences strong activity and supports loyal customers and industry trade organizations.

The management changes follow the departure of former CEO Kilian Renschler, who decided to return to Germany for personal reasons. Renschler led the North American operations since January 1, 2021, and significantly strengthened Koenig & Bauer's position in the North American market during his nearly five-year tenure.
