Paul Briggs joins Xeikon UK

Paul Briggs has been appointed as industrial sales manager for Xeikon’s UK operation. Primarily covering the north of England, Scotland and Ireland, Brigss will promote the range of Xeikon digital label presses.
Briggs has a 32-year-plus association with Mark Andy label presses, which began in 1978 at the then UK distributor Stanley Press Equipment. Briggs took up a sales role at the newly formed Mark Andy UK in 1993. He became managing director in 2002 and moved to a European sales director role in 2008, taking responsibility for direct sales personnel and distributors.
Briggs said: ‘Digital is now a serious and credible alternative to traditional production methods. I felt that the time was right for me to move into the digital arena, and Xeikon offers, in my opinion, the best solution for the labels market, as has been emphasized by the number of sales that the company has achieved in recent years. With print run lengths getting ever shorter and customers demanding ever faster job turnaround times, digital production is what the market wants and needs.’
Briggs will work alongside Greg Neesham on Xeikon digital label press sales, with a north/south split to create the two sales territories. ‘It will be a great pleasure to work with Greg, who has been largely responsible for the success to date of the Xeikon label products. I am sure that there are many more UK label printers out there that are beginning to see that the time is now right to switch to digital production, and I am looking forward to the challenge of helping them to do just that,’ said Briggs.
Neesham, sales director for Xeikon label products in the UK, said: ‘We are delighted to be able to bring somebody of Paul’s extensive experience and knowledge of the UK labels market into the team. I am convinced that it will be a huge boost for Xeikon as a business, and his appointment is likely to lead to even greater successes in the UK market.’
