The group of five riders – including one from Stora Enso Consumer Board – will set out from API’s facility in Poynton, Cheshire tomorrow (May 12), arriving at its facility in Livingston, Scotland on May 14. They will average 87 miles and 6,000ft of climbing per day. The route, which covers roughly a third of the length of the UK, will take the cyclists over picturesque yet testing terrain.

Mark Guyer, head of operational excellence at API, and one of the riders, commented: ‘The idea came up during a meeting of the API charity committee, and it quickly developed until we had a route nailed on. It’s a serious challenge and has required a great deal of training and commitment from all the riders. Personally, I'm looking forward to finishing.’
