BASF to increase prices for its acrylic monomers in North America

Effective August 1, 2008, or as contracts allow, BASF will increase prices on its acrylic monomers sold in the United States, Canada and Mexico by the following amounts:

Glacial Acrylic Acid - USD 0.10 per pound
Methyl Acrylate - USD 0.12 per pound
Ethyl Acrylate - USD 0.12 per pound
Butyl Acrylate - USD 0.12 per pound
2-Ethylhexyl Acrylate - USD 0.12 per pound

This action is a result of the continued escalation of energy and raw material costs. These increases are in addition to the surcharges that were communicated to customers in a letter, and that were effective July 15, 2008.
