Bosger launches Smart Paper Plus mono-material film

Dairy products packed in Smart Paper Plus remained organoleptically stable for longer.

Bosger, a Polish manufacturer of innovative mineral packaging, has launched Smart Paper Plus, a next-generation mono-material film that extends the shelf life of cottage cheese up to 21 days without vacuum packaging. The technology has been verified by independent laboratory tests, setting a new benchmark for dairy preservation in Europe.

Developed as part of Bosger’s internal R&D program, Smart Paper Plus combines proven mineral-PE structure with a proprietary component – a confidential formulation. The result is a film that maintains freshness by stabilizing the product’s natural microclimate instead of sealing it off completely. This balance minimizes bacterial growth and oxidation while preserving the cheese’s smooth texture and natural flavor.

‘We innovate not for the sake of innovation, but to make our clients’ work easier, cleaner, and more efficient,’ said Artur Grigoran, Bosger’s technical manager and sales director.

The innovation originated from pilot tests with a Polish dairy plant that traditionally used vacuum packaging combined with inner parchment. Cottage Cheese packed only in Smart Paper Plus — omitting the vacuum step entirely — remained organoleptically stable for 21 days, compared to an average of 10 days in standard conditions.

Laboratory logs confirmed that up to day 17, there were no sensory deviations, and even after three weeks the product maintained acceptable quality indicators.
