Nobelus receives food safety certification
Elgin, Illinois, facility earns a BRCGS Packaging Materials AA Certification.
Nobelus, a global film supplier for the packaging industry, has received a BRCGS Packaging Materials AA Certification for its Elgin, Illinois, facility.
The certification, issued on September 3, 2026, signifies that the Nobelus facility operates in accordance with BRCGS food safety standards, which the Global Food Safety Initiative (GFSI) denotes as aligning with established international benchmarks.
An independent third party conducted the audit, evaluating manufacturing processes, incoming materials, hygiene and material release to determine whether the company met all certification requirements. Process improvements taken on by Nobelus included hygiene controls, enhanced traceability, supplier approval and increased regulatory compliance. A BRCGS AA ranking signifies that Nobelus met the highest standards for an announced food safety audit.
'People across every department stepped up, learned new expectations and took ownership of their role in product safety and quality,' said Amy Brown, food safety manager at Nobelus. 'I'm proud of how the team came together, not simply to achieve certification, but to build a stronger way of working that will continue to benefit Nobelus and our customers for years to come.'
The certification serves to boost confidence in the reliability and consistency of Nobelus films for customers in food, consumer product and other quality-sensitive markets. By aligning with strict legal, regulatory and specification requirements, Nobelus is positioned as a trustworthy film source and a validated part of the food-safe packaging supply chain.
Steve Truan, global CEO of Nobelus, said: 'Receiving an AA rank is a major accomplishment for Team Nobelus. It was a significant lift, and the team worked tirelessly for well over a year to achieve this certification. We are excited to offer our products to markets that have high food safety standards and support current customers who want to expand into those areas of growth.'
