Yerecic Label achieves How2Recycle pre-qualification

Yerecic Label has achieved pre-qualification of four label constructions through the How2Recycle program, helping brand and retail partners streamline their sustainability efforts.

The company has obtained pre-qualification letters for its SustainLabel! Preferred and SustainLabel! BOPP materials for PET packaging. When customers apply for a How2Recycle label for their final packaging, they can now include these pre-qualified letters, expediting review for the label components already verified by Yerecic Label.

'Pre-qualifying our label constructions through How2Recycle adds real value for our customers. It's one more way we help simplify designing for recyclability – by doing the groundwork that helps brands move faster toward their packaging goals,' commented Elizabeth Yerecic, EVP of sales and sustainability at Yerecic Label.

It is important to note that obtaining a How2Recycle label does not automatically mean that packaging is recyclable. Instead, the label communicates to consumers whether and how a package should be recycled, including the appropriate collection stream, or whether it is not recyclable at all. Yerecic Label's pre-qualified letters apply only to its label constructions; customers must still submit their entire package for How2Recycle review to receive a final label assignment.

In addition to its established SustainLabel! constructions, Yerecic Label continues to strengthen its role as a sustainability partner by helping customers navigate evolving labeling standards. As the How2Recycle Pro Label system rolls out in 2026, the company is promoting awareness and encouraging faster adoption by incorporating a stop sign notice on all customer proofs that include a How2Recycle icon. This visual cue serves as a reminder for brands to review their packaging artwork against the new Pro Label design.

Yerecic Label also provides customers with the label specifications needed for their own How2Recycle pre-qualification submissions that fall outside of Yerecic Label's established pre-qualified constructions.
