TLMI honors best label converters

Dow Industries won the Best of Show Award and 32 other label converters were also honored in the 28th Annual Awards Competition of the Tag & Label Manufacturers Institute. The competition drew 273 entries, resulting in 104 awards. TLMI is North America’s leading trade association serving the tag and label industry, representing more than 300 leading converter and supplier member companies.
Dow Industries won the Best of Show Award in the ‘multi-process – color process – prime’ category for its ‘Victoria's Secret Love Spell Hairspray’ entry. The label also won a first-place award in the same category.
Dow also won first-place awards in the ‘health & beauty products plateless printing’ category for its ‘Oral B Rembrandt - Mouth Rinse’ label, and in the ‘multi-process – line – prime’ category for its ‘Victoria's Secret Lotion Label’ entry.
The company also won an honorable mention award in the ‘flexography – color process – prime’ category for its ‘Ken's Squeezable Salad Dressing’ label.
Multi-Color Corporation led all companies with 16 awards, including eight first-place honors. Other multiple award winners included McDowell Label & Screen Printing, which won seven awards, and Collotype Labels Pty Ltd, which won six awards.
Companies winning five awards included Germark, Renaissance Mark, Impressive Labels, and TAPP Technologies. KimBells pack, Label Technology, and Corporate Express each won four awards.
Companies winning three awards included Labelgraphics, National Label Co., Spear, and The Label Makers Ltd.
Two awards each were won by Amherst Label, Arca Etichette Spa, Banta Specialty Converting, Buckley Graphics, G-3 Enterprises, Novelprint Sistemas De Etiquetagem, Schreiner Group GmbH & Co. KG, and Spectrum Label Corporation.
The awards were presented at the TLMI annual meeting in Las Vegas on October 21, 2005.
