UK converter installs 6-color flexo press from Focus

West Midlands, UK-based converter The Label Centre has installed a 6-color Proflex 250 press from Focus Label Machinery. 

The new press is equipped with a delam-relam unit, over-laminating, UV varnish station, sheet stacker unit and automatic tension control. Focus has also supplied a RotoMetrics adjustable clearance anvil unit (ACA) and a new ultrasonic anilox roll cleaning system. Die adapters will enable use of The Label Centre’s existing Mark Andy rotary dies.

Managing director Derry Bryan said: ‘We looked at a number of options before deciding on the Proflex. This press ticked all the boxes for us and we were impressed by the ease of operation and the accurate print registration – even through rapid speed changes. I was also particularly impressed with the adjustment of the print cylinders. Not only does the Proflex serve our present requirements, but the modulardesign will allow us to add further optional equipment if required in the future. Furthermore, it was important for us to buy a British-made press.’ 

Focus sales manager Antony Cotton said: ‘The guys from The Label Centre came over to Focus and spent a couple of days running jobs on our demo press and getting a feel for the Proflex, in order to make sure that it would suit their production methods.
