Unilux opens Shanghai office

Unilux Inc. has made a major commitment to China’s printing/converting industry by opening a new office in Shanghai and hiring Rachel Wu to coordinate and provide support materials for the company’s four sales representatives in the country. Unilux, based in Saddle Brook, NJ, USA, designs and manufactures stroboscopic surface inspection lighting systems for the printing/converting, papermaking and steel industries. The company has been selling its systems in China for the past four years. Wu, who has a degree in English and a graduate degree in business administration, comes to Unilux from a large trading company, where she did public relations and market research.
“We have a lot of teaching to do because printing on a large scale is very new to China,” Wu said. “We need to demonstrate how Unilux lights are used and show the managers in the printing and converting industries how to apply the technology. If the managers have used Unilux systems before, our task is much easier, but we still need to teach them because they must work with large numbers of workers who have left their farms to work in industry.'"
