Color-Logic and Scodix collaborate on two-level swatchbook

Color-Logic and Scodix have collaborated on a new swatchbook that demonstrates the power of the two respective techniques to produce multiple special effects.

Color-Logic and Scodix collaborate on two-level swatchbook

Color-Logic’s Process Metallic Color System enables printers to consistently and reliably print CMYK process metallic colors and special effects using their existing equipment and print workflows. Using only five inks, a single print run can consistently and predictably produce as many as 250 different metallic colors at a fraction of the previous cost. The Color-Logic system enables graphic designers to create a single metallic design that can be executed using offset lithography, flexography, inkjet and digital processes.

Scodix Sense offers ‘unmatched, high-quality enhancement capabilities’, using the digital print enhancement technologies of Scodix that make graphic communications printed products ‘stand out from the rest and leave a lasting impression’, Scodix said.

The swatchbook was printed using the Color-Logic process with CMYK and white ink on Derprosa substrate, creating metallic special effects which can be readily duplicated from job to job. The Scodix Sense process was then used at three different depths to coat the swatches, creating different hues depending upon the Scodix Sense coating thickness.

Mark Geeves, sales and marketing director at Color-Logic, said: ‘Printers using both techniques can create an incredible array of metallic colors and special effects, while graphic designers benefit from being able to reliably predict how their creations will appear in print.’
