Techkon launches SmartAnilox system
Predictive tool recommends optimal anilox rolls for the lowest deltaE.
Techkon has announced SmartAnilox, a predictive anilox recommendation system that identifies the optimal anilox roll to achieve the lowest deltaE for each color in a job.
The system builds on traditional density adjustment tools by predicting how changing the anilox roll will affect the deltaE of every color. It works by characterizing the rate of density change for a given ink system and substrate combination across a range of anilox roll cell volumes, using data from prints or drawdowns made across typically used volumes.
'Our mission with ChromaQA is to eliminate pressroom guesswork,' said Stephen Rankin, director of product at Techkon USA. 'Unlike traditional tools that leave operators guessing, SmartAnilox identifies the exact anilox roll needed to achieve the lowest deltaE, slashing make-ready times and hitting color targets faster.'
Once the initial characterization is complete, the system's InkCheck graph automatically displays predicted results for all anilox rolls available, removing the need for trial-and-error on press.
SmartAnilox will be available exclusively as part of ChromaQA 7, Techkon's flagship color management software, which is scheduled for release later this month.
