Comexi Group has welcomed a delegation from China to Spain

During the visit, Comexi’s senior area manager of Asia, Yang Su, explained the latest developments in rotogravure printing, holographic lamination and in-line laser cutting. Some presentations were accompanied by a practical demonstration of the Comexi Flexo F2 MP, the Comexi Nexus SL2 and the Comexi Proslit S2 DT.

Attendees were able to tour all areas of Comexi Group, including: the foundry, machining and assembly plants; the Manel Xifra Boada Technological Centre, which was described as the ‘epicenter of the day’, both for its importance in the sector as an exponent of knowledge and innovation, and for its complete machinery park; and the new MasJoals Mechatronic Unit plant.

The Chinese delegation also had the chance to visit Inplacsa, where the first Comexi CI8 Offset press is installed.

Comexi said that Asia, which represents 10 percent of the total sales volume of the group, is making the shift towards flexible packaging. China is a key market of growth for Comexi, and it is working to improve local sales and service to the market.

It will soon open a demonstration center dedicated to lamination, located at the Shanghai location of Dynabond Tech, its representative in China, where Asian companies will be able to learn first-hand about Comexi technology. The demonstration center will house two solventless laminators, the Comexi Nexus One and Nexus SL2.

Comexi Group recently installed three new machines in Caihua’s new plant, with the Chinese company using the Spanish manufacturer’s technology at the heart of the expansion of its production plant in Kunshan, Shanghai.

Miquel Salvà, Comexi’s director of corporate market, said: ‘Comexi is perceived in China as a recognized provider of global solutions, in which companies put their trust in to develop their projects in the field of flexible packaging.

‘Our experience tells us that Chinese converters have to respond to the same needs as the ones in Europe, even with a higher quality standards. In addition, there is a clear trend towards sustainable conversion, so that solutions such as offset printing or solventless lamination have captured the interest of the market in recent years.’
