Lombardi and Shanghai’s Zonten sign distribution agreement
Lombardi Converting Machinery is entering the Chinese market after signing a distribution agreement with Shanghai’s Zonten.

Zonten is a prominent supplier of label and packaging printing technologies in China, and was looking for a new brand ‘standing up for quality and reliability’ to be introduced in the Asian market.
The approach between Lombardi and Zonten occurred during the Labelexpo Europe 2015 in Brussels, where Zonten’s Xiaoyu Lin visited the Lombardi booth, and was impressed by the advanced technology and in particular the accuracy of the register of the new Synchroline flexo press. ‘Discovering Lombardi, a family company, firm and solid, was for us the most important success of 2015,’ he said. ‘When at Labelexpo Europe we saw the two Synchroline presses at work, we were sure we have found the solution to what we were looking for to meet the needs of the industry in China and the Far East.’
The Italian narrow web press manufacturer said an increasing number of countries are interested in its technologies, such as the Indian market, where it is also now present.
The agreement with the Chinese distributor was formalized during Labelexpo Asia 2015 in Shanghai in early December last year. The sale of the first flexo press to a major label manufacturer of the industrial city of Hangzhou has now been confirmed.
‘We are proud to have concluded an agreement with a company as prestigious as Zonten,’ said Massimo Lombardi, foreign sales manager at Lombardi Converting Machinery. ‘We are sure that to the first machine which will be installed in Hangzhou in the coming months, other presses will follow in the region and not only on the important market Chinese.’
Claudio Lombardi, founder and president of Lombardi Converting Machinery, added: ‘After the successes of recent years in Europe and North Africa, and our presence in India that dates back to 2014, to be present on the important Chinese market, encourages us to continue in our technical and commercial strategies that have been put in place step by step for years with dedication and seriousness.’
