US private equity firm buys Australasian print management outfit
The 32-store Australian and New Zealand arm of specialist print and print management business Staples has been acquired by US-headquartered global private equity firm, Platinum Equity.

The announcement did not disclose the value of the deal.
At the same time, Platinum announced its intention to acquire a similar Australasian company, Officemax, in the near future. It said it will retain the Staples name until such time as it develops a separate corporate brand for the Australian and New Zealand markets.
