Novarex installs Screen digital press
Italian label producer has entered digital printing with a Truepress Label 350UV SAI S to target new markets.
Novarex has installed a Screen Truepress Label 350UV SAI S inkjet press at its Venice facility, marking the company's first move into digital printing as it looks to expand beyond its traditional flexographic operations in the food and logistics sectors.
Founded in 1987, Novarex has built its business on high-volume flexographic label production. Following a management change four years ago, the company identified digital printing as essential to meeting growing client demand for shorter runs, higher print quality and faster turnaround times.
The Truepress Label 350UV SAI S was selected for its ability to print on thermal papers, a key substrate for Novarex's existing customers, as well as its print quality, reliability and digital primer capability for an extended color gamut.
'Clients are increasingly requesting smaller individual batches of labels with better print quality and faster turnaround times,' said Giacomo Bergamin, partner at Novarex. 'The new digital press from Screen gives us the same flexo printing quality we're used to, but now with digital flexibility.'
The installation was facilitated by Italian Screen distributor REM. Ettore Maretti, managing director at REM, noted that the partnership is built on identifying the right fit for each converter rather than the easiest sale.
Novarex plans to use its new digital capabilities to expand into cosmetics, pharmaceuticals and small-batch label production while continuing to serve existing food and logistics customers
