Actega to showcase metallization and decoration technologies at Labelexpo Europe
Specialty coatings manufacturer highlights sustainable technologies and partner collaborations.

Actega has announced it will showcase its latest metallization and decoration technologies alongside partner collaborations at Labelexpo Europe 2025 in Barcelona. The company aims to demonstrate how its products help brands achieve their environmental and performance goals.
The specialty coatings, inks, adhesives and sealants manufacturer will feature live demonstrations of its Ecoleaf on-demand metallization technology configured with a Gallus One Digital Press. The companies have extended their partnership to include Ecoleaf technology integration.
'Our collaboration with Actega is built on the shared mission to foster industry-wide innovation and drive smart, connected printing,' said Dario Urbinati, CEO of Gallus Group. 'By combining Ecoleaf technology and the Gallus One platform, printers and converters will gain new opportunities for creative, flexible and sustainable digital label production.'
The on-demand metallization technology positions itself as a sustainable alternative to traditional foiling processes. Marco Van Hooff, chief commercial officer at Reynders label printing, highlighted the environmental benefits.
Marco Van Hooff, CCO of Reynders, commented: ‘1kg of Ecoleaf flakes replaces 3,000 kg of foil. As industry innovators, this is a carbon footprint reduction that we cannot ignore. Our on-demand metallization solution, called S-Sential, is a true game-changer, and we’re proud to integrate it into our portfolio of technical capabilities that make Reynders known in the market.
‘All the brands we have spoken to about S-Sential are excited about the opportunity and sustainable benefits it brings. It’s not just the CO2 and waste reduction, such as eliminating the PET carrier film, that makes S-Sential compelling. It’s also the quick turnarounds achievable and the creative possibilities to use shiny metallization to differentiate your products.’
Customer samples from industry leaders, including Reynders and All4Labels, will be displayed on the Actega stand. The latter has expanded its Starshine product range across European sites in Italy, Germany and the UK, with plans for Romania and France installations this year.
Paola Iannone, vice president of marketing and communications at All4Labels, commented: ‘Our Starshine product range leverages on-demand metallization to deliver stunning metallic effects for self-adhesive labels. The rapid expansion of our STARSHINE™ offering across Europe demonstrates our commitment to delivering this solution to the brands we serve’
Actega will also debut its Signite decoration technology at Labelexpo Europe. The system combines sustainable materials with application machinery for decorating glass, PET and aluminum containers. All4Labels exclusively offers the technology in Europe, South and Central America under its Stardirect brand.
The Signite technology delivers approximately thirty percent lower Global Warming Potential compared to pressure-sensitive labels or shrink sleeves of similar size. The ultra-thin decoration requires no face-stock and eliminates die-cutting waste, allowing customers to produce over forty percent more labels per roll.
The company will showcase its coatings portfolio for pressure-sensitive labels, shrink sleeves and in-mold labels under the motto 'From Challenge to Collaboration'. The advanced coatings include gloss, matte, motion effects and UV and LED coatings designed to address technical challenges, including scratch resistance and adhesion.
Visitors can also see Actega coatings applied to labels being printed at the Gallus stand throughout the show.
