Securikett launches structured silicone coating

New coating process enables product windows and anti-counterfeiting features in a single label.

Securikett has developed a structured silicone coating technology that allows precisely defined areas to be die-cut from a label during material manufacturing, enabling integrated viewing windows, technical openings and ventilation holes while simultaneously adding protection against counterfeiting.

During production, selected areas are cut from the label material and remain on the liner while the label itself separates cleanly. This allows product windows and other structural features to be created directly within the label without additional converting steps, while remaining compatible with standard application processes.

Because the precise structures are created during material manufacturing rather than in post-processing, the technology is difficult for counterfeiters to replicate.

'We can already define during production exactly where a label should adhere and where it should not,' said Vanessa Mitterer-Kling from Securikett's research and development department. 'This allows completely new functions and security features to be integrated directly into the label.'
