BW Converting installs laser anilox cleaner
The new PCMC Meridian Elite+ system cleans without water, chemicals or compressed air.
BW Converting has installed a PCMC Meridian Elite+ laser anilox cleaner at its Packaging Innovation Center in Green Bay, Wisconsin, which cleans four 52-inch rolls simultaneously without water, chemicals or compressed air.
The system highlights BW Converting's focus on sustainability, operator safety and reduced downtime. The center serves as a resource for training, customer collaboration and equipment demonstrations, equipped for platemaking, plate mounting, flexo and digital printing, and bag converting.
In 2026, BW Converting will expand access to the PCMC Meridian Elite+, beginning with the Harper Roadshow in January, which will feature live demonstrations of the system in a production environment.
'The Packaging Innovation Center allows us to demonstrate real-world solutions in a setting that encourages learning, experimentation and connection. Whether you're a technician refining your skills or a converter evaluating new technologies, this is a place built to support your goals,' explained Rodney Pennings, director of sales for print at BW Converting.
The center regularly hosts three-day seminars led by Fox Valley Flexo Services, with instruction from two former educators at Fox Valley Technical College. Small class sizes enable hands-on learning, one-on-one troubleshooting and meaningful interaction with equipment.
'Every session is shaped around the specific needs of the people in the room. We focus on fundamentals, but we go deep where it matters, whether that's troubleshooting press components or understanding how ink and substrate choices affect final output,' noted Mark Keller of Fox Valley Flexo Services.
Training topics include press setup and operation, printing plates, mounting tapes, doctor blades, process color, ink management and corona treatment. The center is open to press operators, pre-production staff, press assistants, customer service representatives and maintenance personnel. A full schedule of 2026 sessions will be released soon.
