The Grey Elephant shows smart production at Labelexpo Europe 2025
The company will present its products, Brain4Tools and Track&Trace4Tools, to printers transform tool management through actionable data insight.

The Grey Elephant has confirmed that it will be joining Esko and partners at Labelexpo Europe 2025, to present its latest innovations designed to help printers and converters take control of their tooling, reduce downtime and operate sustainably.
Visitors at the Esko stand (5D31 and 5E31, Hall 5) will discover how The Grey Elephant’s flagship products, Brain4Tools and Track&Trace4Tools, are helping printers transform tool management through actionable data insight.
Track&Trace4Tools provides printers with full visibility of their tooling assets. By digitally tracking every flexo plate, die, cylinder, and component throughout its lifecycle, printers can see exactly where each tool is, its usage history, and when maintenance or replacement is required.
Brain4Tools acts as an intelligence layer for production, analyzing how tools are used in the pressroom. By identifying common plates, Brain4Tools helps printers uncover inefficiencies such as excessive changeovers or underutilized assets, transforming complex operational data into clear, actionable insights.
The Grey Elephant will appear on Esko’s stand alongside partners, including CarbonQuota, and will highlight how its products provide real-time data that seamlessly connects with CarbonQuota’s plug-in. This partnership enables printers to instantly see the carbon footprint, expressed as kg CO2e, of particular configurations at the design stage as well as the impact of alternative setups and take meaningful steps to cut emissions.
Robert Kohl, CEO at The Grey Elephant said: ‘We are thrilled to be joining Esko and partners at Labelexpo 2025. Our vision is simple: to give printers the clarity and intelligence they need to make smarter, more sustainable choices. With Brain4Tools and Track&Trace4Tools we’re showing the industry how we can help boost productivity, streamline set-ups, maximize press uptime, and reduce costs while confidently meeting tight deadlines. By working in partnership with CarbonQuota, we extend these benefits even further, enabling customers to measure, understand, and reduce their carbon footprint.
‘Our software helps turn insight into action and action into measurable improvement. Labelexpo Europe is the perfect opportunity to see these solutions for yourself, and we look forward to seeing you there.’
Commenting on The Grey Elephant’s products ahead of Labelexpo Europe, Gorazd Zabukošek, head of pre-press studio at CETIS Flex, one of the company’s customers, said: ‘Our biggest pain was to trace common separations across jobs. Physical plates had no reliable digital footprint, and the data we collected was often distorted by manual processes. By implementing The Grey Elephant’s solutions, we digitized every plate, automated common separation search, and captured accurate data at the source, minimizing human error.’
