Labelink acquires L'Empreinte in 15th company purchase
North American printer expands into folding cartons and publishing.

Labelink has acquired L'Empreinte, one of Quebec's largest privately owned printing companies, marking the 15th acquisition in 21 years as the North American printer expands its capabilities into folding cartons, cut-sheet labels, direct mail and publishing.
The acquisition adds L'Empreinte's 110 employees and expertise in publishing, marketing, direct mail, folding cartons and cut-sheet labels to Labelink's existing strengths in pressure-sensitive labels, shrink sleeves and flexible packaging. Founded in 1986 and based in Laval, L'Empreinte has built a strong reputation for quality print and packaging products.
'L'Empreinte has long stood out for its creativity and the quality of its work. Its values of innovation, rigor and attention to detail align perfectly with ours,' explained Stéphen Bouchard, president of Labelink. 'We are proud to welcome this talented team and the exceptional know-how it brings. Building on this strength, we are committed to investing the time and resources needed to realize the full potential of this union and deliver even greater value to our customers.'
The deal forms part of Labelink's strategy to build a network of specialized printing and packaging centers. Together, the companies will deliver a broader, fully integrated portfolio of high-value offerings, creating new opportunities for sustainable growth and elevating the customer experience across all markets.
Luc Janson, shareholder and cofounder of L'Empreinte, emphasized the benefits of remaining under Quebec ownership. 'By remaining under Quebec ownership, L'Empreinte helps preserve local expertise and fosters industry growth for the benefit of customers, employees and the community,' he noted. 'By combining our respective know-how and specialties, we strengthen our packaging printing capabilities while continuing the pursuit of excellence that has always defined us.'
L'Empreinte will maintain its portfolio of clients and continue operating under the L'Empreinte name. Jean-Pierre Rose remains at the helm to ensure operational continuity and uphold the company's culture of excellence.
Labelink now operates 10 plants across Canada and the United States, serving hundreds of regional and national brands with packaging printing services including pressure-sensitive labels, pouches, shrink sleeves and RFID labels.
