AWA publishes first RFID smart label report

AWA Alexander Watson Associates has published its first dedicated RFID and Smart Labeling Market Report, revealing a global pressure-sensitive RFID label market of approximately 25 billion units in 2024 and projecting growth at a CAGR of 10.5 percent through to 2027.

The report covers the full value chain from chip and inlay manufacturers through to label converters and end users, with market data segmented by region across North America, Europe, Asia, South America and Africa and the Middle East. Asia dominates the market with a 65 percent share, while UHF accounts for 85 percent of total volume by technology. It also covers end-use markets spanning retail, food and beverage, pharmaceuticals, healthcare, transport and logistics and industrial applications.

The study draws on more than 160 interviews with key industry participants, C-level executives and subject matter experts, complemented by online surveys and AWA's existing market database built over more than 50 years of label industry research.
